How we write these up.

70% less re-keying

Logistics

Cutting paperwork out of a freight operation

Sample entry. A regional freight operator handled delivery notes and customs paperwork by hand, in whatever format each partner sent them. Two staff spent most of every morning re-keying documents that had already been typed once elsewhere.

  • Documents read automatically whatever their layout
  • Exceptions routed to a person instead of failing silently
  • Status visible to the team who field the phone calls

2 days saved each month

Professional services

One version of the numbers for a consultancy

Sample entry. Time, billing and cost data lived in three systems that disagreed, so profitability by matter could not be answered with confidence. Month end took two days of manual assembly.

  • Systems integrated so figures reconcile automatically
  • Utilisation and profitability from a single source
  • Month end reduced from days to minutes

6 weeks to audit ready

Financial services

A security baseline that stands up to audit

Sample entry. A mid-sized firm had partial MFA coverage, untested backups and logs that could not be searched. An audit was six weeks away and evidence would have taken most of that time to reconstruct.

  • MFA completed and privileged access reviewed
  • Restores tested and documented in a drill
  • Retained, searchable logs with evidence produced as work happens

What makes a good one

Worth knowing before you write these.

Weak case study

  • A list of technologies used, with no problem stated.
  • A claim with no number behind it, or a number with no baseline.
  • So anonymous that no reader can recognise themselves in it.

Strong case study

  • The situation first, in the client’s words where possible.
  • A measurement taken before, and the same one taken after.
  • Enough sector and scale for the right reader to think that is us.
